Girls' Football Team

The Year 5 & 6 Girls' football team are off to a fantastic start to the season.

After qualifying for the Bromley 7-a-side finals last Wednesday, the girls returned to action on Friday to prove their undefeated start to the year was no fluke. They had two matches against very tough competition in Bickley and Southborough.

The first match against Bickley Coach Yianni decided to mix things up a bit by putting Sancha in goal and brought Amber out to play in the field, a tactic that paid off as we emerged as 1-0 winners. The second match would be much tougher as their school featured 3 district players. As predicted, Southborough got off to a great start and went into the half up 1-0, and looking like the stronger side. Chislehurst came out fighting in the second half however, and Sienna made a great through ball to Tippi who slotted it in the corner to draw the score level at 1 apiece. We held on for the last few minutes, as Southborough's star striker put one off the post, another off the cross bar on a free kick, combined with a couple of other great saves by our keeper as the game ended 1-1. The girls showed great resilience, and so far this season they are undefeated in six matches.
