Value of the term-Friendship
Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
At St Nicholas CE Primary School we place a high importance on our involvement and association with local churches. Three of our nearest Parish churches; St Nicholas, Christ Church and the Church of the Annunciation, all enjoy an equal standing in our admissions policy and the school regularly worships in all three Churches:
St Nicholas Church is only a short walk across the common from our school and we worship there frequently; including whole school family services, the celebration of Eucharist for each class and the festivals of St Nicholas Day and Christmas.
The incumbent of St Nicholas Church is an always a member of our Aquinas advisory council.
Christ Church in Lubbock Road, Chislehurst, is a slightly longer walk down Old Hill. We celebrate Easter here and the good people of Christ Church have in the past hosted our end of year school drama production and annual music concert in the main church.
The Church of The Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the ‘Annunciation’ for short is at the far end of Chislehurst High Street. We make an annual ‘pilgrimage’ to that lovely old church in late spring to celebrate Pentecost.
We also visit:
Chislehurst MethodistChurch website https://www.chislehurstmethodistchurch.org.uk/ Prince Imperial Road, a walk across Chislehurst Common, to celebrate Harvest and Pentecost here at which our whole school community joins together to worship.
Church leaders from all three parish churches also visit our school regularly to take acts of worship in the school hall as do church leaders from The Methodist Church, the Spinnaker Trust and the Ichthus Free Church, who meet at 85 High Street Chislehurst.
