Summer Term 2018

Year 5 have spent the past four Wednesday afternoons turning themselves into Engineers, Mechanics and Architects!  Year 5 have been studying the workings and construction of the structure known as 'The Thames Barrier', culminating in pupils building their own replica model.

Class 5 have been writing newspaper reports, with an emphasis on our work on mammals. The children researched the reports, handwrote them and then learned how to produce them on Publisher. Here are some examples of some of their work:

These four examples are from Elleanor, Delilah, Harrison and Ellie. You'll see many more on our display board outside of the classroom.

You can also find our spelling lists, as well as some links so some useful websites that we use.

'Pen Down' Days

On Thursday 19th and Friday 20th October the whole school took part in  two 'Pen Down' days.  These were run to inspire a different and more creative approach to childrens' learning.

In Year 5 we used clay to create leaf bowls and painted them with Autumn inspired colours.

We also designed and created our own advertising campaign and TV adverts using 'imovie'.
