Our Christian Vision

‘Our Christian community growing and learning together’

To inspire in all our children a deep sense of imagination, and equip them with knowledge, to develop their fullest God-given potential, and be the difference needed to make the world a better place.

Our Christian inspiration

"The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches."
Matthew 13:31–32

St Nicholas is a caring and inclusive Christian community, growing and learning together. Inspired by the Parable of the Mustard Seed, we believe that God has placed unique gifts and potential within every child. Just as the tiny mustard seed grows into a strong tree that provides shelter and support for others, we strive to inspire in all our children a deep sense of imagination and equip them with the knowledge, skills and confidence to develop their fullest God-given potential.

Through our Christian values of Compassion, Humility, Endurance, Hope, Friendship and Courage, we nurture growth in faith, character and learning. We encourage our children to recognise that even the smallest actions can make a difference and that, by growing together as a Christian community, they can become the difference needed to make the world a better place.

Spirituality statement

We recognise that spirituality is an important part of every child's development, regardless of their faith or beliefs.

As a Christian school, our vision is rooted in the Parable of the Mustard Seed (Matthew 13:31–32). We believe that every child has God-given potential and that, through encouragement, learning and reflection, they can grow and flourish within our Christian community.

We provide opportunities for children to explore life's big questions, reflect on their experiences, appreciate the wonder of God's world, and develop an understanding of themselves and others. Through our values of Compassion, Humility, Endurance, Hope, Friendship and Courage, we encourage children to grow spiritually, develop positive relationships, and become the difference needed to make the world a better place.

"Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree."
Matthew 13:32
