Chislehurst Girls' finish 9th in London
The girls football team represented Bromley at the London Youth Games on Wednesday, earning a 9th overall placing in the event that comprised of 32 boroughs.
The team started off strong, winning both of their first two matche 2-0. In our third group match, against the eventual champions Richmond, we were actually on our way to victory but conceded the tying goal with only seconds remaining. We went on to win one further game in the afternoon, which meant we finished the day with 3 wins, 2 losses and a draw. The goal we scored against Richmond was the only one they gave up all the way until the grand final, and the point we earned from the draw was the only match that Richmond did not win. The girls can be extremely proud of their performance, especially given how small our school is and that almost all of our players don't play for a club outside of school. Thanks to Matthew for all the hard work in training on Mondays-it really paid off!
